“We’re Moving On Beyond the Bullying”

 

 

Chloe Olivia Gloston is a 12 year old songwriter, pianist, singer and aspiring actress, was born on May 3, 2004 in Dover, Delaware to John and Yvonne Gloston.  At the age of three Chloe begin playing her keyboard with her feet.  It was obvious that we needed to guide her in the direction of her God ordained gifting and talent.

Chloe made the decision at the age of ten that she would use her musical gifts to turn her negative circumstances into positive opportunities to help inspire others who are being bullied.

Chloe-Olivia was bullied from kindergarten to the beginning of 6th grade. She was kicked, slapped, and continuously blamed. She was spit on, grabbed and pushed up against the wall by a teacher. She was told, “Back in the day you would have been my slave”, by a little Caucasian kid. She was also told that you should be a slave tied to a tree and whipped, etc. We took her out of school toward the end of 4th grade and homeschooled her.

 

She had been playing the piano since the age of 3.  At the age of 9 Chloe started writing Anti Bullying songs to deal with her feelings and wanted to spread the message through song. After writing her first song "This is your moment" and going to many local back to school events here in Charlotte, she wanted to return to school to face her bullies. Thus started her journey to spread the message from state to state about this cowardly act!

As Chloe-Olivia returned to school for 5th grade, she refused to let her bullies win!
Her voice was being heard throughout the school! Soon Chloe-Olivia was asked to write the 5th grade graduation song for the 5th grade class to sing at graduation!  Chloe-Olivia wrote this song in less than an hour!  Chloe-Olivia had the responsibility of teaching her song to those who had bullied her in the past in preparation for gradation day!  After a few rehearsals, Chloe-Olivia's song could be heard throughout the 5th grade hall by students and teachers singing "I'M MOVING ON"! Chloe-Olivia is currently in 7th grade and back on honor role.  Her songs can still be heard throughout the school by students singing “I’m Moving On” or her recently 2016 CD released single “I’m a Crazy Kind Of Beautiful.

 

Chloe-Olivia has taken a negative situation and turned it into something inspirational and positive! She wants to encourage others with her story through song! To date Chloe-Olivia has written over 45 anti-bullying songs!

It is an honor for her to still be here among the living because so many others succeeded at committing suicide! Her being is evident that she did not commit or attempt suicide but thoughts of suicide was present and very real as we recently found out.  Chloe-Olivia stated “mom I did think about what it would be like not to be here”, I would write on my desk with a dry eraser “NO ONE LIKES ME; I WANT TO DIE, I WISH I WAS DEAD”!

I soon realized that Suicide is not an option say’s Chloe-Olivia! We’re moving on beyond the bullying! Let’s do this together!

At the age of 11 Chloe-Olivia became the musician for our home church Final Harvest Ministries International Apostle Jonathan Richardson Charlotte, NC!  Chloe-Olivia has received God into her life and is trusting God for all things especially Forgiveness!  Luke  6:37 (NIV) “Do not judge and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven”.
